Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) Toccata in D minor (“Doric”) BWV 538
Craig Humber,
Born in Newfoundland, Canada, he first studied physics and mathematics before his love of organ music led him to Leipzig and Vienna. As a prizewinner of several scholarships and competitions, he was able to specialize in the period-accurate organs of Gottfried Silbermann and also in Romantic organ music.
Since 2017, he has been in charge of the Walcker organ in the Votivkirche and founded the Orgelklang Votivkirche organ festival in 2019. In addition to his international activities as a concert organist, teacher, and juror, the preservation of this valuable organ is one of his main concerns.

THE GREAT ORGAN OF THE VOTIVE CHURCH
The historic organ in the Votivkirche was built in 1878 by the renowned organ building company EF Walcker and inspected by Anton Bruckner.
Renowned composers and organists have appreciated this instrument, played
and used as a sound ideal. Fortunately, the instrument is in almost original condition and is considered one of the most important organs in Europe.
