The organs
of the Votive Church
THE WALCKER ORGAN
The organ was built in 1878 by the organ-building company E. F. Walcker in Ludwigsburg. It features 61 stops, three manuals, and a pedalboard, with a total of 3,762 pipes.
THE OLD CHOIR ORGAN
The old choir organ, located in the chapel ring at the front right behind the choir screen, was built in 1904 by Josef Capek
THE NEW CHOIR ORGAN
The new choir organ was built by the Vienna organ-building company Philipp Eppel and inaugurated in 1970. The case design and voicing were carried out by master organ builder Herbert Gollini
The function of the church organ from today’s perspective
The organ's primary function is liturgical: to accompany and lead the congregation's singing during the service.
