High-ranking experts
met on March 15 and 16, 2024, to discuss various aspects of the Walcker organ in the Votivkirche.
Topics included the history of the Walcker organ, its construction, restoration, playing technique, and its role in the liturgy. It was also a good opportunity to discuss the challenges of organ restoration with a master organ builder.
The aim of the organ conference was to develop a detailed list of services for the upcoming organ tender/restoration.
The consulting team
consisted of high-ranking organists, organ builders and musicologists from Germany and Austria.
