About the event
Originally from the Basque Country, Thomas Ospital has been the organist of the grand organ at Saint-Eustache Church in Paris since 2015. From 2016 to 2019, he was the first Organist in Residence at the Maison de la Radio.
His concert career takes him both across France and abroad. Improvisation plays an important role in his musical practice; as he strives to carry this art forward in all its forms, he particularly focuses on accompanying silent films.
His first recording is dedicated to works by Franz Liszt, performed on the grand organ of Saint-Eustache (Hortus Editions, September 2017). A second album, released in January 2018 and recorded on the organ of the Auditorium of Radio France, features improvisations and works by Johann Sebastian Bach, compared to the Chorals-Études composed by Thierry Escaich.
