About the event
Part 1:
The Walcker Organ
Immerse yourself in the fascinating soundscapes and technical sophistication of our magnificent three-manual organ, masterfully built in 1878 by Eberhard Friedrich Walcker.
Participants will experience the organ up close in a captivating live demonstration, watching the skilled hands and feet of the organist from the gallery.
The different organ registers will be introduced, and the art of registration in a composition will be vividly explained. The expression "pulling out all the stops" will be demonstrated impressively—both figuratively and literally!
Additionally, there is a rare opportunity to peek inside the instrument and admire Walcker’s original mechanism—an astonishing testimony to the exceptional craftsmanship of 19th-century instrument making.
