About the event
Anna-Victoria Baltrusch , born in Berlin in 1989, studied Protestant church music (organ with Prof. Martin Schmeding, Prof. Zsigmond Szathmáry and Frédéric Champion) and piano (Prof. Gilead Mishory) at the University of Music in Freiburg im Breisgau; in October 2016 she received her concert diploma in organ with distinction.
Since winning the International Organ Competition of the Bach Society Wiesbaden in 2009, she has received numerous prizes at international organ competitions, including the German Music Competition, the ARD International Music Competition, the August Gottfried Ritter Organ Competition Magdeburg, the International Organ Competition St. Albans (GB) and the International Bach-Liszt Organ Competition Erfurt-Weimar.
Anna-Victoria Baltrusch maintains a lively concert schedule in Germany, Switzerland, and other European countries. In January 2012, she made her organ debut with an organ recital at the Berlin Philharmonic and has worked with ensembles such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the New Westphalian Philharmonic, the Brandenburg State Orchestra, and the NDR Radio Choir.
From 2014 to 2015, Anna-Victoria Baltrusch took over the position of district cantor at the Evangelical Christ Church in Bad Krozingen while on parental leave.
From winter semester 2015/16 to summer semester 2019, Anna-Victoria Baltrusch held a teaching position for artistic organ playing at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre.
From 2016 to 2021, Anna-Victoria Baltrusch worked as organist at the Alte Tonhalle organ in Neumünster Zurich and directed the independent chamber choir TonArt Zurich from 2017 to 2021.
Since the winter semester of 2021/22, Anna-Victoria Baltrusch has been teaching as a professor for artistic and liturgical organ playing at the Evangelical University of Church Music Halle (Saale) and was appointed titular organist at the Ulrichskirche concert hall there in January 2022.
For the winter semester 2023/24, Anna-Victoria Baltrusch was also appointed university organist at MLU Halle.
