Thomas Ospital, originally from the Basque Country, has been the organist of the grand organ at Saint-Eustache Church in Paris since 2015. From 2016 to 2019, he was the first Organist in Residence at the Maison de la Radio.
His concert career has taken him both across France and internationally. Improvisation plays a central role in his musical practice—striving to develop this art in all its forms, he particularly focuses on accompanying silent films.
His first recording, released in September 2017 by Hortus Editions, is dedicated to works by Franz Liszt on the grand organ of Saint-Eustache. His second album, published in January 2018, was recorded on the organ of the Radio France Auditorium and features improvisations and works by Johann Sebastian Bach, compared with the Chorals-Études composed by Thierry Escaich.
